• Paint Brush
Art Stamp Images
Diamond Glaze
Card Stock
Self-Adhesive Cork Paper
Palette Ink or Staz on Ink
Stipple Brush or Color Dusters
Wonder Tape

TECHNIQUE #1: APPLY STAMPED CARDSTOCK TO TILE

Stamp on Cardstock, then Apply to Tile:
To use a more detailed design, use this method.

1. Stamp image on cardstock with Palette ink. Color stamped image using stipple brushes and different colors of palette ink. You may want to cut masks to apply separate colors, blocking out the areas that you do not wish to be colored.

2. Tear edges around design or use a paper cutter. Be sure to leave an edge around the design.

3. Apply Wonder Tape to the cardstock design. We have found that the Wonder Tape works better than trying to use glue. Attach the cardstock to the top of the tile carefully centering in the middle.

4. Apply diamond glaze to the top of your tile, directly over your cardstock design. Brush glaze just over the torn or cut edge and allow to dry. If edges of the cardstock buckle apply a second coat.

5. When the glaze has dried, flip the tile over. Cut 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch squares of self-adhesive cork. Attach 1 square to each corner of tile to protect surfaces.

TECHNIQUE #2: STAMPING DIRECTLY ON TILES

Stamping Directly onto Tiles:

Use Palette or Staz On ink. Be careful with the type of designs you choose. Designs should be simple - avoid designs with a lot of detail. Remember that you are stamping on a natural tile surface - they will have holes, cracks and imperfections - so plan ahead.

1. Stamp images onto tile - allow ink to dry or heat set with a heat tool.

OTHER COLORING OPTIONS FOR TILES

  • Glitter or embossing powders may be used on the tile surface. Allow glitter to
completely dry before brushing diamond glaze.
  • If you can't find the color of tile that you prefer you can sponge or rub Palette ink on the tile until desired color is achieved. A stipple brush or color duster can be used to add lighter colors.
  • Blender pens and chalk can also be used to color images, but be careful when brushing on diamond glaze, as chalks can run if too much glaze is used.
  • Use sharpie markers to color or decorate the tile. Sharpie markers are available in a rainbow of colors.
