Transparency
(clear acetate, laser and copy machine compatible transparent
material) This material is able to withstand heat from the
embossing process without shrinking or buckling. If you
have trouble with the powder sticking to the clear sheet,
wipe it with a fabric softener sheet to reduce static. Stamp
the image in black (be careful when using pigment ink, this
surface is very slippery.) Emboss the image with clear powder.
Color in the design on the front side with Marvy or LePlume
markers. Use clear embossing powder and sprinkle over the
entire design, covering all areas you have colored in. Heat
emboss the entire design from beneath to give it a glassy
look.

Stamp
the Santa on acetate with a black pigment stamp
pad, then heat emboss with black powder. (figure 1)
On
a panel of green linen cardstock, use the Stamp Alignment
Tool to center the Santa image. Stamp in black
pigment ink and heat emboss with gold powder. Add a decorative
corner to the panel with a corner edger. Cut inside the
outline for the frame for your stained glass. Reserve inner
Santa image for another project. (figure 2)
Color
the Santa image on the acetate. (figure 3) For the red and
green, Marvy pigment pens were used because of their deep
colors. Color a small section at a time, on the same side
as the black embossing, and sprinkle with clear powder before
the ink dries. On the face, pink and flesh tones were blended.
For the white sections, a clear embossing pen was used.
To
assemble the card: Cut the acetate to within 1/4" of the
edge of the Santa image. Mount to the back of the green
frame with double stick tape. Press onto a white glossy
card. (figure 4) |
