BRAYER TECHNIQUE
Randomly color with Marvy Metallics all around your brayer. With a fine mist spray bottle, spritz a thick film of water onto the surface of a glossy card. Roll the brayer once over the card. More than one swipe tends to "muddy" the colors. If you want more swirls, spritz the card again. Air dry or use your heat tool.

TOUCH TIP TECHNIQUE
Spritz a glossy card with a thin film of water. Touch the tip of one color of metallic marker here and there into the water. Spritz again. Aim the heat tool at a low angle across the card and move the film of water as it dries. Repeat the process with another metallic color.

SCRIBBLE TECHNIQUE
Scribble and dot colors onto a dry glossy card. Then spritz the surface with water. The colors will spread and swirl together. Air dry or use your heat tool to further blend as it dries.

FAUX RUST TECHNIQUE
Spray a little water onto black glossy card stock. (You can make your own black glossy card by rolling black Memories ink onto a white glossy card with your brayer.) Using the gold metallic marker, scribble a bit onto the water, occasionally pressing the tip to release more ink. Now add some copper metallic marker ink in the same way. Tilt the cardstock, allowing the inks to run and mix. Sprinkle a small amount of black embossing powder into some of the wet areas of the card. For maximum color contrast, do not cover the whole card with powder. Apply heat with your heat tool until the powder has melted, the inks have dried, and the water has disappeared. The surface will bubble during the application of heat. Now experiment with other colors of Marvy Metallic Markers on some of the metallic foil board colors.

  • Marvy metallics can also be dabbed, sponged or swirled onto a dry card with paper towels for interesting background looks. Try this on vellum. It is soft and pretty.

  • Marvy Metallics work beautifully on metallic card paper. The heart and leaves above were made using this technique.

  • Marvy Metallics can be colored onto the rubber dye of your stamp and then stamped onto a card. Do not use for word stamps or fine-lined designs, because they tend to "fill in."

  • Marvy Metallics work very well for stained glass cards. Stamp and heat emboss your design on acetate with black ink and black powder. On the same side, color with metallic markers, covering interior lines. Turn the acetate over and mount to your stained glass card.
