-
Put 1/2" of water into an old cake pan or other tray that
is about 3" deep.
-
Using oil based paint such as model paint, thin it out
with a few drops of turpentine. Stir well.
-
After thinning several colors, drop 2 drops of several
desired colors onto the surface of the water. The droplets
will fan out and cover the surface of the water.
-
Slowly and lightly draw a stick through the colors - once
only.
-
Lay
one edge of the paper on the water surface and lower the
rest of the paper, or bend the paper so that the middle
touches first and then let the edges fall onto the surface.
Do not submerge. The paper will pick up the swirled paint
colors from the surface of the water.
-
Lift up immediately and place face down onto newspaper
to absorb surplus color and water. Eliminate this step
if you desire very intense colors.
-
Lay flat to dry, or hang.
-
Dip 3-5 sheets of paper before adding more color droplets.
