For
the base and sides of the 3-D box, cut a piece of greeting
card paper 8¼" x 5½".
-
Score
and fold as illustrated in Figure 1. A tri-fold card may
be used. Cut away 2 1/8" from each end to reach the desired
8 ¼" size. The inner valley fold will already be in place
at each end. Note: Always fold away from the side from
which you score. The actual design area should lie within
an area 2¾" from each end, centered, so that the design
will not be hidden behind the accordion folds.
-
Stamp
and decorate the design as desired. All embellishments
must be finished and dried before the frame front can
be added.
-
Design
the frame front on a standard size greeting card, stamping
and decorating as desired. The front frame will be a double
thickness for extra sturdiness.
-
Cut
away the desired portions for viewing through. Cut through
both panels of folded card.
-
Assemble
the 3-D box.
a.
Using quick drying glue (dry-line recommended), glue close
to the inside
fold of the front frame card, and down the
sides. Spread glue across bottom.
b. Tuck in the edge of the box section up to the first
valley fold. Add more glue to edge.
Close down the front section card and glue
in place.
c. Last, glue or tape the top folded edge of the front
section to the remaining
edge of the accordion folded section. (Figure
