3-D Card

MATERIALS NEEDED:
4-1/2" x 10-1/2" piece of index - back & sides
4-1/2" x 6" piece of index - frame/face of card
4-1/2" x 4 7/8" piece of transparency - center layer

3-D Card: Fig. 1-2

STEP 1 - BACK & SIDES: Score on dotted lines as indicated on Fig. 1. Place fold lines ¾" apart. Cut on center fold (solid line), leaving ¼" uncut at top and bottom

3-D Card: Fig. 3-5STEP 2 - FRAME & FACE OF CARD: Cut as indicated in Fig. 2 OR Stamp a large image on this section such as the aquarium or bottle - Cut away center.

STEP 3 - CENTER LAYER - TRANSPARENCY: Measure 3/16" in from each end. Cut ½" slot from each end at this line. (Fig. 3a) Cut away 1/8" from top and bottom (Fig. 3b) inside slots.

STEP 4 - STAMP & DECORATE AS DESIRED: Don't neglect the area on the background between the fold lines. This will be slightly visible.

STEP 5 - ASSEMBLE: Fan-fold the back section so that the cut portion on the center fold is toward the center of the card. (Fig. 4) Slide the tabs on the transparency into the cut edge on the center fold. The tabs will hold it in place. Apply glue to the back of the margins on the front frame of the card on the short ends only. Press the fan-folded sides flat. Press the front frame firmly into place on the ends. (Fig. 5)
