The example illustrates one of our favorite ways to decorate with the Candy Cane (M-34). Stamp it on a transparency (clear acetate) with black pigment ink, then heat emboss the image with black powder. Color on the same side as the embossing with Marvy markers, leaving the white stripes blank. Now sponge clear embossing ink sparingly over the entire image. When you apply the clear ink, some of the marker colors will transfer into surrounding areas. This gives an interesting look to the design. Over-emboss the entire image with iridescent or silver sparkle powder. Stamp the candy cane image with embossing ink onto the front of a red Astrobright card. Heat emboss the outer line border with silver powder. At this point, add a stamped and embossed border to go around the edges of the card. In this example, the exclamation point from the Graphic Alphabet Set was used. Cut just inside the rectangular edge line of the candy cane image for your "window" with a paper edger. Turn the acetate over and mount it behind the window. On the inside of the card, line with a plain white panel. The white paper will show through from the front to give the red and white striped look of the candy cane.
