A
stained glass technique was used on this card. Stamp the stained
glass Happy Birthday image on the front of your card. Using
a craft knife, cut away the design you just stamped to create
a window. Stamp and decorate the pattern around the edges
of the window with a colored dye ink on glossy cardstock.
Stamp the stained glass image with black pigment ink onto
a piece of vellum. Heat emboss with black powder. Turn the
vellum panel over, and color the stained glass design with
Marvy markers on the opposite side from the heat embossing.
Mount the vellum panel behind your "window". Attach with tape.
If desired, attach a panel of card stock behind the window
to hide the work. The entire card was then cut with Deckle
Paper Edgers and mounted with form mounts onto a yellow card.
The yellow card was made by applying dye ink to a white matte
card, using a rubber brayer. This can be done with any color
of ink.
